If your kids have a passion for art and penchant for fun, then register them today for the following innovative and creative summer art camps at the Potocki Center for the Arts, 27301 La Paz Road.

CREATIVE BUILDING CAMPS 

Jedi Engineering Using Lego 
The Force is strong in this camp while participants build complex machines and structures based on designs from a galaxy far away. Projects include LEGO X-Wings, AT-AT Walkers, Pod Racers, Star Destroyers, Cloud Cities, settlements and fortresses.  PlayWell instructors reinforce key engineering concepts such as gear trains, worm drives, pneumatics, eccentric motion and more.  This camp takes place June 18-22 from 9 a.m. to noon for kids 5-7 and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for youth 7-12.  Cost is $180 per week. Steam + Minecraft Adventure Game Using Lego 
Prepare for a full-day with PlayWell Teknologies LEGO camp of hands-on and minds-on STEAM fun.  Resourcefulness, creativity and cooperation come together in this unique building adventure game. Participants roll the dice to mine for resources, craft tools and watch out for creepers. They will learn this original game created by PlayWell instructors and inspired by the popular Minecraft video game.  This camp takes place July 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for kids 5-7 and on August 6-10 for youth 7-12.  Cost is $300 per week. INCREDIFLIX FILM CAMPS

Live Action Flix
Do you want to have a blast making a movie?  In this fantastic camp, you will go from “Action” to “That’s a wrap!”  Camp leaders will guide you through the Hollywood process as you brainstorm, location scout, bring in props and costumes as well as act and direct in a collaborative movie that is fun for the entire audience. Cost is $210 per week for ages 7-12.  The camp takes place from 9 a.m. to noon June 25-29.  (Course #17489)

Lego Flix Stop-Motion Flix 
If you enjoy creating Lego worlds, you’ll love bringing those worlds to life in Lego stop-motion animated flix. This fun camp is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 25-29. Campers ages 7-12 will create a Lego set with characters for a movie they storyboard, write, shoot and voice-over in age-appropriate groups. Cost is $210 per week. (Course #17490)

Animation Flix 
Create up to five stop-motion animated flix!  Each day learn a new style, as you create, direct, and film your movies in this ultimate arts and crafts camp!  Cost is $210 per week for ages 7-12.  The camp takes place from 9 a.m. to noon August 13-17.  (Course #17491

Minecraft Movie Flix
Bring Steve, the creepers, and more to life as we turn the video game into an exciting Minecraft stop-motion movie!  Write, storyboard, film and add voiceovers.  Cost is $210 per week for Ages 7-12 and takes place on August 13-17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  (Course #17492)

FINE ART CAMPS

Kids Fine Art Camp with Mrs. Keady
Join us for a summer passport to fun as we explore art activities from around the world!  Tempera, watercolor, chalk, oil pastels, markers and pencils are all used.  Bring a snack and your imagination! Cost is $200 + $20 lab fee payable to instructor for ages 6-12 and takes place June 11-15, Course #17599; July 9-13, Course #17600; July 23-27, Course #17601 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Teen Visual Art Summer Camp
In this fine art day camp teens will enjoy various art media.  Graphite drawing, painting, Japanese calligraphy, and cartooning will be explored.  Cost is $145 + $25 lab fee payable to instructor for ages 11-18 and takes place on July 9-13, Course #17603; July 23-27, Course #17604; July 30-August 3, Course #17605 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
