Resolve to embrace Mission Viejo parks, trails and open space this year
If you've resolved to spend more time with family, shed those holiday pounds or simply get more active, head to the great Mission Viejo outdoors. With more than 50 parks, trails and vast open spaces, the options are almost endless here for exploring, exercising and simply enhancing your life.
In fact, we've got some of the best parks in Orange County. Take Pavion Park and La Paws Dog Park, for example.
There's never a dull moment at Pavion Park. From the bright, floral surface area to the giant interactive maze, this is a place where imaginations can run wild. Spread across 5 acres, Pavion Park was the first universally accessible playground in Orange County when it opened in 1988. Along with awesome state-of-the-art play equipment designated by age, you can also relax on park benches, stroll the walking trails and enjoy the large grassy areas surrounding the playground.
If you want to bring Fido along for the ride, head to La Paws Park at 25100 Felipe Road, just south of Gilleran Park. This popular dog park is 6 acres. Three acres are landscaped slopes that include a walking trail that loops around the park and sitting areas looking out over Arroyo Trabuco Canyon. The other 3 acres are divided into dog play areas, with sections for large and small dogs, and a separate area for one owner to use for up to 30 minutes at a time. This is a great place for you and your pup to get some exercise and meet new canine friends.
Along with these two community favorites, resolve this year to visit a Mission Viejo park or hit a trail you haven't tried before. Check out the options at this link. You will be glad you did!
