Shine a Light Against Crime on National Night Out

national night out

With COVID-19 transforming community events across the country into virtual celebrations, Mission Viejo Police Services and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are creating a virtual event to celebrate this year’s National Night Out.

Traditionally held on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

This year’s theme – “Shine a Light Against Crime” – will begin with residents asked to turn on their porch lights in recognition and celebration of National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4. Along with shining a light against crime, a series of messages and videos will be posted beginning July 30 and then every Tuesday through the month of August on Police Services’ Facebook @OCSD-Mission Viejo Police Services and Instagram at @ocsdmissionviejo

Community members are invited to help celebrate and embrace our safe City on August 4 and throughout the month!

For more information, contact crimeprevention@cityofmissionviejo.org or 949-470-8433.
