Sweet Sophie deserves a loving home

sophie

Sophie, a sweet and beautiful 4-year-old German Shepherd, has had a challenging life.

After her previous owner encountered financial difficulties, he sought assistance at a local church and Mission Viejo Animal Services intervened. Realizing he could no longer provide Sophie with proper care, the man made the difficult decision to surrender her - hoping she would find a loving home. Upon arrival at our shelter, Sophie was severely underweight and in need of nourishment and care. Through dedicated attention and a consistent regimen, she has made wonderful progress, gaining nearly 20 pounds and blossoming into a healthy and content companion. However, Sophie's exuberant happiness sometimes leads to what veterinarians refer to as "happy-tail" syndrome, where her enthusiastic tail wagging results in injuries and can lead to infection and nerve damage.  To alleviate this discomfort, the veterinarian said the best solution for Sophie was to amputate her tail.

Despite her past challenges, Sophie remains an adventurous spirit, always eager for walks and exploration, yet equally fond of leisurely moments spent rolling in the grass for belly rubs. Her infectious joy is evident.

Sophie's ideal home would be one where she can bask in undivided attention as the sole pet, surrounded by a serene environment filled with love. Our nonproft DAWG is sponsoring her adoption, so Sophie will go home with an approved adopter for $20.

If Sophie sounds like the perfect addition to your loving home, meet her at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, 28095 Hillcrest. For more information, call 949-470-3045.
