Vibrant art exhibits at City facilities this summer
If you’re looking for artistic inspiration this summer, stop by City facilities to view several different colorful and meaningful art exhibits.
The Saddleback Art League’s “Spring Reflections” exhibit is now on display at the Mission Viejo Library. This juried show features stunning artwork by local artists spanning a range of media, styles, and subjects. This vibrant display runs through June 11.
In the exhibit cases near the children’s area of the library, you will also find artwork by children’s book illustrator Shiho Pate. This charming exhibit explains the process of how a picture book is illustrated, from sketches and storyboards to the polished final product. Pate will speak at the Mission Viejo Library on June 3 at 3:30 pm. The exhibit runs through June 30 at 100 Civic Center.
Stop by the Norman P. Murray Center to view a selection of oil paintings by a nationally acclaimed artist. The late Susanne Forestieri was the winner of the prestigious 1996 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in painting, and her art has been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the National Academy Museum and the American Museum of Illustration in New York City as well as prominent Las Vegas locations including the Bellagio hotel and McCarran International Airport. The exhibit runs through June 30 at 24932 Veterans Way.
Finally, don’t miss the “Art of Well-being” exhibit at the Potocki Center for the Arts, curated in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. This display features the work of five local artists and runs through June 9 at 27301 La Paz Road.
