The Village Green set to sparkle at the Arts Alive Festival April 28-29
Mission Viejo's iconic Arts Alive Festival is once again primed to dazzle an array of art lovers from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 at the Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green and neighboring community center at 24932 Veterans Way. The event also extends to the new Potocki Center for the Arts at 27301 La Paz Road.
Exhibiting a "Nature as I See It" theme, festivalgoers this year will savor a spectrum of musical performances; Caring Fairies along the Oso Creek Trail, art workshops at the Potocki Center, plein air painters canvassing the area; art vendors; and talented street painters from across the globe making the blacktop come alive.
"The Arts Alive Festival has such a warm and welcoming reputation that the Festival attracts world-class street painters," said street painting coordinator Renee Keady. "The artists keep coming back because they tell me that they feel like we are a family and there is a true sense of the word 'community' here in Mission Viejo."
Street Painter Maribeth Friedman McFaul agrees.
"The combination of music, arts and crafts, food, and street painting makes Arts Alive one of the best weekend art festivals of the year."
Admission is FREE. Visitors will find an abundance of fun activities for kids and adults alike, food and beverages offered and a shuttle bus available from the Civic Center at 200 Civic Center during the event on both days
