Vintage cameras on display at the Mission Viejo Library

kodak exhibition

Next time you stop by the Mission Viejo Library, check out a display of antique and vintage Kodak cameras.

The Eastman Kodak Company, founded by George Eastman and Henry A. Strong, released its first camera in 1888. The name Kodak rapidly became one of the most recognizable brands in the world, synonymous with cameras and film for nearly 100 years.

This exhibit of 150 cameras highlights technological advancements over the course of a century, with cameras dating between 1895 to 2000. Models include the Kodak folding series; Kodak Brownie series; Kodak single lens reflex (SLR) (Retina) series; point-and-shoot film cameras as well as some vintage specialties.

Local camera enthusiast Simon Wang has collected a variety of vintage cameras for more than 40 years and is honored to exhibit his personal Kodak collection. This display runs through September 24. The Mission Viejo Library is located at 100 Civic Center.
