Part of an ongoing effort to prevent drug abuse, the City’s Community of Character Committee and Mission Viejo Drug Prevention Coalition are hosting a Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Expo on October 16.

For parents and teens 14 and older, the free event dubbed – “Is it Worth it?” – is from 6-8 pm at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Through a panel of experts, the expo will cover the dangers and impacts of drug abuse; current and emerging drug trends; youth resiliency for drug resistance; and much more. The event will feature educational booths, a drug IQ challenge and refreshments.

The expo comes before Red Ribbon Week and the annual Walk Against Drugs on October 19.
