This summer, Capistrano Unified School District Food and Nutrition Services is offering free, healthy lunch to children and teens, 18 years and younger.  Lunches are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 12 to August 11 at Viejo Elementary School, 26782 Via Grande.

Menu items include yogurt, cheese, hummus, trail mix, sandwiches, Domino’s “smart slice” pizza, fruits and veggies.  Free lunches are also served at Hidden Hills Elementary, Las Palmas Elementary, and Marco Forster Middle School.

Federally funded, the summer meal program ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Nationally, the program will serve more than 200 million free meals at approved sites.
