Council to host second Public Hearing on district-based election maps Feb. 8

council meeting update

The City Council on Tuesday, February 8 will host the second Public Hearing regarding the district-based election maps.

During the first Public Hearing, the Council discussion centered on Map E, submitted by a resident, which the Center for Demographic Research was asked to review and revise. The revised version is now available on the website. A third Public Hearing will take place during the Council's February 22 meeting.

Along with discussion about the maps, the Council will also consider awarding a contract for the Montanoso Recreation Center Rehabilitation project, which entails replastering the pool and spa and replacing pool mechanical equipment.

The Sheriff's Department will also give a School Resource Officer (SRO) update about school safety.

The City Council meets at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and also air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City's eNewsletter and follow the City's official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.

Thank you all for doing such a wonderful job keeping our community beautiful and safe for all.

I have lived here since 1992 and visited family since the 1970's and the City of Mission Viejo has never looked better. You all deserve recognition for the professional and amazing job you are doing.

God Bless you, Teri
