Pioneers of guitar ensemble to perform in Mission Viejo Aug. 26

One of the premier guitar ensembles will grace the Mission Viejo stage in a special performance on Saturday, August 26.

New West Guitar Group has developed a vast reputation as one of the leading guitar ensembles in the world. Featuring guitarists Perry Smith, John Storie and Will Brahm, the group performs recognizable covers, standards and exciting originals. The group’s signature sound comes from an innovative style that highlights rhythm, beauty and virtuosity through combining acoustic and electric guitars. Smith and Storie founded the group a decade ago, and today they tour as a trio throughout the country and abroad. Two years ago, New West Guitar Group released "Send One Your Love" on Summit Records. Downbeat Magazine gave this CD the prestigious Editor's Pick in August 2015.
 
Praised as "sharp and refined" by the Seattle Times, New West Guitar Group has released five instrumental albums over the last 10 years. Their music is regularly featured on NPR and radio stations, and they’re known as pioneers in the realm of guitar ensemble.
