Breakout star of Netflix's hit series 'Indian Matchmaking' to appear in Mission Viejo March 29

Aparna Shewakramani

Make plans to spend an evening with Aparna Shewakramani, the breakout star of Netflix's hit series "Indian Matchmaking" as she discusses her memoir "She's Unlikeable: And Other Lies that Bring Women Down" in Mission Viejo on March 29.

This free event begins 6 pm in the Mission Viejo City Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Aparna's decisiveness and sense of self-worth led Netflix viewers to see her as a specific archetype: the villain and a woman people love to hate. However, all stories are told through certain lenses"”and hers is no exception.

In her memoir, Aparna bares it all and talks about her mother's bravery in leaving her marriage, Aparna's diagnosis of an autoimmune disease, and her confession that she is susceptible to the "deep-rooted need to be pretty and likeable."

Aparna is a lawyer with a JD from Vanderbilt Law and a BA from Rice University. She lives in New York. This event is presented in partnership with Chicago Review Press and Creating Conversations Bookstore. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

Seating is limited and registration is required for this exciting event.

Two tickets options for admission are available at https://mvl-presents-aparna-shewakramani.eventbrite.com: a free ticket or $32 ticket that includes one hardcover copy of "She's Unlikeable" and a priority spot in the signing line. Books will be signed in order of the online purchase.
