Kick off Water Safety Month May 1 with fun community event geared to all abilities

splash into summer

Make a splash and kick off Water Safety Month at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex on May 1 at 27474 Casta Del Sol.

The community event is from noon to 4 pm with the first hour designated to the City's SNAP (Special Needs Adaptive Programming) initiative. SNAP is designed to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to partake in adaptive programs and experience the mental, physical, emotional and social aspects of sports and recreation. SNAP participants will enjoy modified activities, fun sensory activities, and water play.

In addition, families will enjoy recreational swim activities, an inflatable obstacle course, rubber ducky race, water-safety scavenger hunt for kids, balloon maker, face painting, diving demonstration at 2 pm and a light snack bar.

The event will also boast water safety and drowning prevention information as well as details about swim lessons and more. All swimmers must be water safe and will take a swim test upon entering the facility.

The Nadadores Foundation and City are committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation in services, programs, and employment. To request accommodation, contact event organizers at least 10 days in advance at 949-380-2552.
