Update about affordable housing in the region and request to host a triathlon on Council's agenda April 26
The City Council on Tuesday, April 26 will receive an update about affordable housing in the region and will consider a request to host a triathlon next month, among other business.
The Orange County Housing Finance Trust, which provides assistance for affordable and permanent supportive housing, will provide an update about the region.
Council Members will also consider a request to host the 2022 Orange County International Triathlon on May 22. This Olympic-distance event traverses Mission Viejo neighborhoods and surrounding communities and includes a 1.5K swim in Lake Mission. Athletes then ride along the 40K bike course through Santiago Canyon, with part of the race crossing the 1984 Olympic finish line near the lake. Other events include an Aquathon and Duathlon.
In other Council news, on May 10, the City Council will consider the Planning and Transportation Commission's recommendations to deny ValueRock Realty's zone change request for the Gardens property at the corner of La Paz and Marguerite.
Council meetings start at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
