Get ready for extreme fun in Mission Viejo this weekend with the annual Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park event and Farmers Market on Saturday, August 13.

First up, the new weekly Farmers Market begins Saturday at the North Paseo located at 25282 Marguerite Parkway from 10 am to 2 pm. Shop a variety of locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, cooked items, handmade crafts and more. Vendors include Bee Ladies Honey, Butter Crumbs Bake Shop, South Coast Farms, Tea Lucky, The Tamale Fiesta, Black Sheep Farms, Got Green Drinks and many more. For more information on the market, visit farmandcraftmarket.com. To view more events happening this fall at the North Paseo, visit envisionmv.com.

Then, head over to Oso Viejo Community Park (24932 Veterans Way) for the Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park event from 4 to 8:30 pm. With an "Extreme Summer Fun" theme, guests will enjoy the picturesque park filled vibrant décor and extreme activities. Patrons can savor delectable fare from several food trucks; revel in live music with renowned Music Director Carl St.Clair and Pacific Symphony; play games with family and friends; and visit community booths for more entertainment. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. The free event also includes three spectacular motocross shows by two-time X Games medalist Javier Villegas and fellow motocross favorite Dereck Beckering. Guests can begin placing blankets and chairs after 1 pm. Pacific Symphony takes the stage at 7 pm.

The City is encouraging residents to bike to the event. Bike racks will be available for patrons' convenience along with a security guard to keep bikes safe. To accommodate parking, shuttle service will be provided from the Civic Center to the Village Green.

There will be many photo opportunities, so make sure to tag the City (@missionviejolife) for a chance to be featured on the City's Instagram!

Do you have accommodations for seniors this Saturday? What if we don't bring chairs to sit on because it's too hard for us to carry chairs while walking on the grass?
