Enjoy the classic holiday film "Miracle on 34th Street" on Sunday, December 17 at Mission Viejo City Hall as part of a free movie series sponsored by the City's Community of Character Committee.

The movie event begins at 2 p.m. and highlights "caring," Mission Viejo's character quality for the month of December.

This timeless film, starring Maureen O'Hara, Edmund Gwenn and 8-year old Natalie Wood, tells the story of a department store Santa named Kris Kringle who believes he's really Santa Claus.  The movie garnered Best Supporting Actor for Gwenn and Best Screenplay for its delightful script.

A heartwarming celebration of the Christmas spirit, the movie ranks 9th on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Most Inspiring Films.

The film will be shown on a theater-size screen with theater-style seating and surround-sound at 200 Civic Center, just across from the Mission Viejo Library. A brief discussion follows the screening.
