Council approves Mid-Year Budget Review, item related to Sober Living and Recovery Task Force

The City Council on Tuesday approved the Mid-Year Budget Review for Fiscal Year 2022-23 and an item related to the Sober Living and Recovery Task Force, among other business.

During the City’s mid-year budget review for Fiscal Year 2022-23, Council Members approved the City’s amended budget, which included adding $1.175 million to General Fund reserves. The item also featured a lengthy discussion about the housing element

In sober living home news, the Council unanimously approved a contract to provide management assistance to the South Orange County Sober Living Home Task Force.  Aligned with the task force, the Council approved the City’s participation in support of the City of Costa Mesa’s Petition to the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to support the health, safety and welfare of the public as well as residents seeking to live in unlicensed sober living homes.  

Council Members also appointed commissioners to the Community Services, Investment Advisory and Planning and Transportation Commissions. 

The Council normally meets at 6 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live on the City’s website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
