Sweet senior dog needs a loving home

jake sully

Jake Sully was turned into the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center as a stray in April. The 7-year-old German Shepherd was in terrible shape — he was severely overweight; his toenails were so overgrown that they were turning outward to the sides of his feet; his front feet had dropped carpal ligaments (which is generally from lack of exercise); and his teeth were worn down as if he had been chewing on a cage or crate.  We can’t imagine where this sweet dog was before he came to us, but his life has certainly turned around in the past couple months.  A volunteer favorite, Jake Sully gets lots of walks, play time, and love every day. Our non-profit DAWG also paid for a full senior blood panel and a dental exam. All he needs now is a new home!

Jake Sully would make a wonderful addition to almost any home because he is laid back and easy-going but also still spunky, playful, and he loves his toys.

Senior dogs traditionally take a long time to get adopted, but we hope Jake Sully does not have to wait much longer for the forever home he deserves.  DAWG will pay most of his adoption fees, so his approved adopter will only pay $20 to take him home.

Stop by today at 28095 Hillcrest to meet Jake Sully.

I get so emotional when I hear these stories about animal cruelty! A person has to be severely messed up to do this to a sweet, loving innocent animal that only wants to be loved!! I pray that you find a loving home for Jake very very soon. He deserves the best life! I wish I could take him but I don’t have the space he deserves at the moment. Thank you city of Mission Viejo for being so kind and wonderful- to try to find a wonderful home for Jake!
