Guitar virtuoso Brooks Robertson will perform in Mission Viejo July 22
World-renowned fingerstyle guitar virtuoso Brooks Robertson will take the Mission Viejo stage Saturday, July 22 as part of the Lord of the Strings concert series.
The concert begins at 7 pm in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.
Robertson was drawn to the guitar at an early age, winning first place in a youth talent competition on Garrison Keillor's National Public Radio classic "A Prairie Home Companion" in 2004. Ten years later, Robertson was a finalist in Ritenour's Six String Theory competition and earned a full-tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he is now an assistant professor.
Recently voted as Oregon’s “Best Emerging Artist†by Deli Magazine, Robertson uses his superb technical abilities to play bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously and surpass the borders of conventional genres. He merges hauntingly beautiful compositions, country rhythms, and jazzy harmonies into his own art form.
Tickets are $40 and available online at lordofthestringsconcerts.com.
