City and local organizations provide services for folks in need

seniors with groceries

If you know someone in need of food or social services, there are several local organizations that provide these services for families in need.

In Mission Viejo, free groceries are available for seniors through our City’s Senior Grocery Food Pantry from 8-9 am on Fridays at the Norman P. Murray Community Center. Seniors can bring two reusable grocery bags to fill with perishable and nonperishable items such as meat, dairy, fresh produce and canned goods. For more information, visit the Senior Programs and Services webpage

In addition, numerous other nearby food pantries are available including Mercy Warehouse in Laguna Niguel; South Orange County Family Resource Center in Lake Forest; Family Assistance Ministries in San Clemente; and RSM Cares Food Pantry in Rancho Santa Margarita. The City compiled a full list of local food pantries folks can use

For people in need of housing, two local organizations in Irvine can provide assistance: Families Forward and South County Outreach
