Public invited to Veterans Day observance Nov. 11
The City of Mission Viejo’s annual Veterans Day observance is on Saturday, November 11 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center in Veterans Plaza next to the facility entrance.
The outdoor ceremony will begin at 2 pm and include keynote speaker Colonel Matthew D. Lundgren, Commanding Officer of Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division and guest speaker retired Army veteran Jessica Foat of Be Well OC.
The event will also feature a live vocal performance of patriotic songs; presentation of colors by the Marine Color Guard as well as a three-volley rifle salute and taps. To support folks with hearing impairments, the ceremony will feature sign language interpretation. After the ceremony, patrons will enjoy an indoor dessert and beverage reception in the Sycamore Room.
