Paws on the Paseo Dog Costume Contest Oct. 25

halloween dog

It’s not just the kids who relish in a dress up party at Halloween time, the dogs are thrilled to strut their stuff in costume, too!

The City of Mission Viejo is hosting the inaugural Paws on the Paseo Dog Costume Contest and parade for dogs. The free event features local vendors, scavenger hunt, pet-friendly exhibitors, and free giveaways while supplies last.

The scavenger hunt will be from 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm. Register for the parade and pick up your clues for this year’s pet scavenger hunt from nearby businesses within walking distance for a chance to win a prize.

The parade and costume contest will begin at 6 pm. (Parade registration is free and will end at 5:45 pm). Costume contest categories include Cutest, Spookiest, Most Creative and Best Human/Dog Duo Costume. First place prizes will be awarded in each category.

Participating vendors will be the Animal Medical Center, Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, D.A.W.G., Just Fur Paws, Pets Plus, and Pup & Pop Bakershop.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on a leash and be current on all necessary vaccinations. Dog parade rules and City dog park rules and regulations will apply.

Come play in your own backyard at the North Paseo (25282 Marguerite Parkway) and don’t miss upcoming free events!
