The City Council on Tuesday, February 13 will recognize the Mission Viejo High School football team for winning the CIF State Division 1-AA Championship, among other business.

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Council members will begin the meeting by recognizing the Mission Viejo High School football team for clinching the championship game, which pitted the Diablos against legendary De La Salle at Saddleback College. The City captured highlights of the action on Mission Viejo Television's South County SportsZone and filmed a special interview with Coach Chad Johnson about the team's title on Coach's Corner with Paul Higgins.

The Council will also consider awarding a Memorandum of Understanding with Pacific Symphony to host a sensory-friendly concert at the Norman P. Murray Center on March 2; chamber music concert at the Jeronimo Tunnel on April 17; and two Symphony on the Go concerts on May 24 and June 16. Similar events were held over the past year, which generated positive public feedback and media attention.

City Council meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City's eNewsletter and follow the City's official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
