Free Movie of Character Sunday
Don't miss a free screening of "A Million Miles Away" on Sunday, May 19 in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.
Part of the Mission Viejo Community of Character Committee's movies of character, the screening begins at 1:15 pm.
Inspired by the real-life story of NASA flight engineer José Hernández, the 2023 PG-rated movie follows him on a decades-long journey from a rural village in Michoacán, Mexico to more than 200 miles above the earth in the International Space Station. With the support of his family, José's drive and determination culminates in the opportunity to achieve his seemingly impossible goal of becoming an astronaut.
"A Million Miles Away" is a 2023 movie that hints at the possibility of greater thematic depth, though. It's a powerful message and one that will inspire audience members.
