MY HUSBAND, DAUGHTER, AND HER HUSBAND WERE IN NYC ON 9/11/2001. THEY WILL NEVER, EVER FORGET.
IT WAS SO FAR AWAY FROM MISSION VIEJO.
WE HAD VERY FEW WAYS TO COMMUNICATE.
I KNEW THEY WERE SAFE BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT NEAR THE WTC.
BUT EVERYONE WAS FEARFUL OF MORE STRIKES FROM THE ENEMY, PERHAPS IN THE SUBWAYS, STRIKES ON OTHER BUILDINGS, THE STATUE OF LIBERTY.
THERE WAS NO WAY FOR THEM TO COME HOME. NO FLIGHTS ALLOWED, NO TRAINS, NO BUSES. EVERY CARE AVAILABLE HAD ALREADY BEEN RENTED TO LEAVE THE CITY.

THEY ALSO LEARNED THAT THE PEOPLE OF NYC HOW NICE AND HELPFUL; THE PEOPLE OF NYC ARE. THEY HAD HEARD RUMORS HERE IN CALIF., OF HOW RUDE AND UNFRIENDLY NEW YORKERS ARE. BUT THAT WASN'T AT ALL TRUE. THEY WERE VERY KIND AND HELPFUL IN SPITE OF THE FEAR.
THIS WAS TRULY A DAY THAT NO AMERICAN SHOULD EVER FORGET, JUST LIKE THE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR.

NEVER FORGET SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. LEARN FROM IT AND PRAY THAT NEVER AGAIN WILL AMERICA BE ATTACKED IN ANY FORM.
