A New Year means even more chances to tap your creative side through fun classes. Register today for the following courses that kick off in January.

STEAM with Lego Camp
Level up your engineering skills with tens of thousands of LEGO parts! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering and architecture through engineer-designed projects like gear cars, castles, airplanes and scissor lifts. Design and build as and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. There are no prerequisites for this course (#8116) that takes place from 9 a.m. to noon January 2-5 in the Mission Viejo Library Storytime Room.  It caters to ages 6-12. Cost is $144 per student.

Beyond Colors with Mrs. Rad
This fun class helps kids develop their fine-motor skills. Children ages 2-5 use oil pastel, watercolor, crayons and color pencils to create masterpieces; make crafts; and practice hand printing.  The program (course #8176) takes place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 5, 12, 19 and January 26.  Cost is $50 plus a $20 material fee payable to instructor.

Bollywood Dance
With Beena Sammi, you will learn the joy of Bollywood dance with a blend of Indian folk and classical dance. This program (course #8665) for people age 15 and older takes place Saturdays at 1 p.m. January 6, 13 and 27. Wear comfortable clothes. Cost is $55.

Color Theory Class
Learn how to mix colors like a master using acrylic paint in this fun class from 6-8 p.m. January 11 and 18. You will create a unique color wheel that you can hang on your wall to remember the color theories. This class (course #8142) caters to kids ages 8 to 15 and takes place in the City Hall Saddleback Room. Cost is $15 plus a $10 material fee payable to the instructor.

Encaustic Melted Wax Paintings
Create one-of-a-kind melted wax paintings using lots of texture and color in this cool class from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, January 5.  No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and curiosity for new art forms. This class (course #8133) caters to people 13 and older. Cost is $35 plus a $20 material fee payable to the instructor.

Mixed-Media Painting Collages
Guided by a talented instructor, you will create a personalized mixed-media collage using paint, random materials and objects for texture and balance. You will produce a wonderful piece of artwork to hang on your wall. This program (course #8156) takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27 and February 3, 10 and 17.  It caters to people 12 and older. Cost is $30 plus a $20 material fee payable to the instructor.
