Play Texas Hold ‘Em for your favorite cause
If you know "when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em," make plans now to play Texas Hold 'Em for a great cause on Saturday, April 14.
The Mission Viejo Rotary is hosting a community-wide poker tournament and fundraiser to support many local nonprofit organizations.
The event begins with a silent auction at 4 p.m.; dinner at 5 p.m. and gaming from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way. The exciting evening includes dinner by Outback Steakhouse, beverages and gaming. Must be 21 to attend.
This fundraiser benefiting local nonprofits comes on the heels of the Oso Fit Fun Run hosted by the City and Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce.
“Just like with the Oso Fit Fun Run, many nonprofits will benefit from people who register because they get to select which charity receives a portion of their registration fees,†said Mark Nix, Director of Recreation and Community Services. “This is a casual and friendly setting where all levels of players are invited to enjoy and even learn more about the game. Folks opting out of playing cards can still support an organization by purchasing a dinner ticket, listening to live music and having tons of fun!â€
