Make plans for free concert April 21

Head to the Kaleidoscope on April 21 for a fabulous free concert featuring talented young musicians.

The City of Mission Viejo is teaming up with Community Outreach Alliance Music Performers to host the concert from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Plaza Level at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway.

The concert will feature amazing vocalists - Gabby Leigh, Merissa Macchiorola and Corey Angeli - as well as the Triple Braided-Trio & Solo Duet.

Along with great performances, the event will feature life-size Jenga and Connect 4 as well as other games led by the City of Mission Viejo. This first-time event is meant to provide local youth with fun and healthy entertainment, a longtime goal of the City's and San Clemente-based nonprofit Community Outreach Alliance (COA).

"We started COA in an effort to stop the epidemic of drug and suicide deaths in our community," said founder Pondo Vleisides. "Over the past four years, we have put together an amazing team of professionals who provide healthy activities for free to the youth in the Capistrano Unified School District. We know the sobriety and clean fun our young people need is so critical to them choosing great health and honestly, survival. We offer activities to youth ages 12-22 in hopes that they will find a talent or hobby to give them something to do versus wanting to drink and/or take drugs. We believe every child deserves to find his or her talent."
