Get ready for a sensational show Saturday, June 16 featuring two world-renowned slackers who are anything but, well, slackers.

Lord of the Strings will present "Slackers in Paradise" with Jim Kimo West and Ken Emerson, living legends in the world of Hawaiian slack key and acoustic steel guitar. The concert is at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center Drive.

Known for performing fresh and spontaneous shows while keeping with the true Hawaiian "kanikapila" style, their diverse musical influences also venture beyond the islands toward the land of blues, ragtime and jazz. Ken and Kimo both have many Grammy, recording and touring credits. Ken was a composer/guitarist on Hawaii's first Grammy-winning album "Slack Key Guitar Vol 2" and the featured guitarist on "Morph The Cat" by Donald Fagen (Steely Dan).

Besides his solo slack key career, Kimo is a longtime guitarist on CDs, videos and tours for world-famous musical satirist "Weird Al" Yankovic whose recent CD, "Mandatory Fun," debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and won the Grammy for Best Comedy Recording. Kimo's seven slack key CDs have garnered him much praise and more than 75 million streams on Pandora and Spotify.

Tickets are $40 per person and are available at the door or by calling 949-842-2227.
