SCE Community Meeting Oct. 4 will focus on wildfire mitigation program

Southern California Edison (SCE) will host a community meeting on Thursday, October 4 to discuss its wildfire mitigation program and the potential for Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in the area. 
 
This meeting is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rancho Santa Margarita Community Center located at 22232 El Paseo.
 
As part of its operational safety practices, SCE may proactively shut off power in high fire risk areas "when extreme weather conditions present a clear and imminent danger to public safety." This would only occur after the utility exhausts several other operational practices.
 
All customers on a circuit potentially impacted by PSPS will receive notification of the program and October 4 meeting.
