Family fun, activities, music and more planned for Symphony in the Cities July 27
Families are in for a special treat when the 2019 Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park returns to the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park on Saturday, July 27.
With a theme of "An Evening in Seville," this year's Symphony in the Cities includes entertainment, gourmet food trucks, a wine-and-beer garden and lots of free fun for youth. Interactive, hands-on activities include making an instrument, playing a drum, meeting a musician and the renowned conducting clinic with Maestro Carl St.Clair. The Prelude in the Park and Musical Playground kicks off at 4 pm, and children who come wearing a white shirt (without logos) will have the chance to participate in a dynamic opening act. To sign up for the performance, parents/children should check in at the "Running with the Bulls" booth at the Prelude in the Park between 4-6 pm.
The event also features the City's new SNAP (Special Needs Adaptive Programming) initiative. The program is designed to provide opportunities for folks with disabilities to partake in adaptive programs and experience the mental, physical, emotional and social aspects of sports and recreation. SNAP participants can arrive early at 3:30 pm to enjoy crafts and fun sensory activities. (Contact 949-470-3004 for more information.)
At 7 pm, the famed Pacific Symphony will take the Mission Viejo stage for an outdoor concert extravaganza.
Free shuttle service transports guests round-trip from the Civic Center from 4-9 pm.
