Don’t miss screwball comedy fun Feb. 11
Are you ready for a laugh-out-loud night full of slapstick comedy? Then make plans for the Modjeska Unscripted Classics at 7 p.m. on February 11 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
Presented by the Modjeska Playhouse, this hilarious evening is a completely improvised play in the style of a screwball comedy. This genre became popular during the Great Depression, originating in the early 1930s.
With the help of audience suggestions, the cast will create an improvised full-length play based on films of the 30s and 40s that made actors like Cary Grant and Claudette Colbert famous. Full of farcical situations and fast-paced repartee, each Modjeska Classic is performed once and no show is ever the same. The audience and cast members never know how the play will turn out.
Tickets are $10 for the performance, which is appropriate for audiences of all ages. Purchase your tickets at the door or online at https://econnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #5037.
