Popular saxophonist and composer to perform with Saddleback College’s Big Band Feb. 25

Saddleback College is gearing up to host saxophonist and composer Walter Smith III on Saturday, February 25.
 
The extraordinary musician will join the college’s Big Band on the McKinney Theater stage at 7 p.m.
 
Smith has developed through the influence of many musical greats and has recorded with legendary groups like the Terence Blanchard Quintet, Eric Harland’s Voyager band, Roy Haynes “Fountain of Youth” band, Jason Moran’s Big Bandwagon and the Christian McBride Situation band.  He has performed throughout the world participating in numerous international festivals as well as famed venues including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.  So far, Smith has appeared on more than 75 recordings released worldwide.
