Enjoy Master Chorale, wassail and cookies Dec. 8
Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley will perform a spectacular holiday concert at 3 pm on Sunday, December 8 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Enjoy an enchanting afternoon of traditional carols blended with some beautiful new pieces by contemporary composers.
This talented group began in 1963 in Laguna Beach when Doris Shields, choir director for the Neighborhood Congregational Church of Laguna Beach, was asked to pull together a choral group to sing background music for the Pageant of the Masters. When the first season ended, Doris was determined to keep the musicians together, so she organized performances with a Shakespeare troupe and other concert opportunities throughout the Saddleback Valley.
Throughout the years, the ensemble's name has taken on several associations. Since 2013, the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley has remained a vocalist group with an ever-expanding repertoire that includes the classics of Mozart, Bach and Brahms as well as folk songs from Appalachia; Renaissance love songs; opera choruses; and music from other parts of the world.
Don't miss this amazing performance that includes wassail and cookies at the end of the concert. For more information, contact 949-470-8440. Tickets for the December 8 show are $20 and are available via course #44886.
