Meet Animal Services Officer Erik Mansoor
With National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week underway, the City is taking the opportunity to recognize the dedicated officers of the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
Officer Erik Mansoor is one of eight highly trained officers serving Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills and Rancho Santa Margarita.
A dedicated professional, Officer Mansoor has been part of the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center’s team since 2017. He came to our City with nearly a decade of experience in the field – and is a former police officer, deputy marshal and deputy sheriff.
Among many duties, officer Mansoor is our Licensing Enforcement Officer. He handles an array of animal situations whether the call is for a wild animal stuck in a car engine or someone inquiring about an exotic animal, which is illegal to own or possess.
When not working, Officer Mansoor enjoys hiking, geotagging photos and waymarking. Indeed he enjoys the great outdoors and completed two 100-mile canoe trips with his sons through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. He is also animal lover with a cat named Max.
Our City appreciates his service to our community and animals!
