Pinecrest Park Flood Control Channel Repairs underway
Public Services crews began repairing the damage to the bank of the Pinecrest Park flood control channel this week caused by winter rains.
Crews hauled in more than 200 cubic yards of soil and 100 tons of boulders to lessen the impacts from the storm flow of water that rushed through the park’s channel and damaged the slope along the creek next to the playground area.
As part of the City’s mid-year budget review, the City Council approved $60,000 for the slope repair efforts. Staff expects to recoup $45,000 in reimbursements from the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) when the work is completed.
Work will continue through next week.
