Artists and students are gearing up to share creative ideas and projects with the community during the Mission Viejo Arts Alive Festival. This dynamic event takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30 at the Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green and neighboring Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

With a "Lights, Camera, Action!" theme, this year's festival will feature a cornucopia of fun - arts and crafts, musical performances as well as amazing street paintings brought to life by incredible artists traveling to Mission Viejo from near and far. The two-day event includes an array of tasty fare and beverages along with cool activities for kids. Admission is free.

Several local art educators are working together to provide festivalgoers with exciting creative projects including ceramic wheel throwing demonstrations, Van Gogh's tissue flowers, chemistry with slime, sand layering, photography, stone polishing, painting, LEGO fun and much more. Complementing the City's ongoing efforts to spark a love of the arts in local youth, art instructors from the "Arts for All Ages" program at the Potocki Center along with local college students will be on hand to answer questions and engage the public in these special activities.

Free shuttle bus service will be available throughout the weekend from the Mission Viejo Civic Center at 200 Civic Center.
