Take a day trip to 'The Vault'
If you are interested in taking a daylong excursion that's out of the norm, then listen up. The City of Mission Viejo is offering a special excursion on Thursday, May 4 that includes a trip to "The Vault" Petersen Automotive Museum.
The museum is located on Wilshire Boulevard along Museum Row in the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles. Guests will take a behind-the-scenes tour of some of the most unique cars in the collection that are not on display in the museum galleries. The Vault is home to cars representing more than 100 years of automotive history, some of which have rarely been seen by the public. A docent will guide folks through The Vault while sharing stories about a selection of the cars in the facility's diverse collection.
People who take the excursion can have lunch on their own at the recently renovated historic Clifton Cafeteria. The trip also features a stop at Stan's Donut Shop of Westwood, known for producing some of the world's most delectable donuts.
The trip departs from the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $89. Register online at https://econnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course 5104 or call 949-470-3062.
