Small Business Seminar & Resource Fair attracts many to Mission Viejo City Hall

Local business owners filled Council Chambers today for the Board of Equalization's Small Business Seminar and Resource Expo hosted by the City of Mission Viejo.

The Small Business Seminar provided businesspeople with essential information for business success. Guests learned about sales and use tax regulations, the benefits of employees vs. contractors, business ownership options, recordkeeping for tax purposes as well as accessing capital and retirement planning.  Experts from the State Board of Equalization, Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, U.S. Small Business Administration, OC Small Business Development Center and SCORE led the program.

Board of Equalization Chairwoman Diane Harkey, Senator Pat Bates, Assembly Member Bill Brough, Mayor Wendy Bucknum and Council Member Trish Kelley were on hand for the well-attended event.
