A special concert featuring alto saxophonist Alex Hahn and pianist Ron Kobayashi is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Hahn and Kobayashi will join the incredibly talented students of the La Paz Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dan Robbins.

He also won the Perform with Mintzer Competition and jammed with saxophone legend Bob Mintzer in Chicago. Most recently, Hahn recorded with Michael Bublé for his newest album. He's currently a student at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz under the direction of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. The group has performed at the Panama Jazz Festival, Sitka Jazz Festival and will perform for International Jazz Day in Cuba.

Kobayashi performs alongside bassist Baba Elefante and drummer Steve Dixon as the Ron Kobayashi Trio, which has received rave reviews from Southern California audiences. The trio has been voted "Best Jazz Group in Orange County" and was nominated as "Best Jazz" at the Orange County Music Awards.
