OC Walk for CURED takes step in Mission Viejo May 21

person walking

Folks throughout the community are gearing up to walk Lake Mission Viejo for the OC Walk for CURED on Sunday, May 21.

Hosted by the nonprofit CURED, the run-walk event raises money to help fight Eosinophilic Disease, a devastating disease impacting children in which white blood cells attack the digestive system.  CURED was founded by Ellyn and Fred Kodroff after their daughter was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorder in 2003. The disease depletes the body of iron and essential nutrients necessary for proper development and physical growth. CURED is a nonprofit organization that donates 100% of its proceeds to research for a cure.

Participants in the OC Walk for CURED will meet at Florence Joyner Olympiad Park at 22730 Olympiad Road for the 10 a.m. walk.  Along with a pristine trek around the lake, the event includes raffles, games, a bounce house, face painting and other festivities. A host of superheroes will be on hand for the fun. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Cost is $25 per person or $100 per family. For more information, visit http://curedfoundation.org, sign up at ultrasignup.com or contact Jaclyn Tran at 714-585-9877 or j.greeneyez06@yahoo.com.
