When is the library opening. Do you have any statistics showing someone got covid from a book?? Quarantining a book is now a but much. I went to the Orange County library in Aliso Viejo, walked in, requested a book and it was brought me, no bag, no putting it in the back of my car. The last book I got this week, the gal, with gloves on, did not even close my back hatch. Enough is enough. You can let people in, use sanitizer, take Temps if you need to. I am losing confidence you want to move forward!

I agree with Eileen. Who benefits from this lockdown?

The Council Chambers remain closed to the public, with very strict "guidelines" on how the public can address its government.

Here is how the City of Rancho Santa Margarita recognizes the public's right to observe and offer IN PERSON public comment at its
Council Chambers:

SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19): If you wish to attend the City Council meeting in person, the City Council Chamber is located at 22112 El Paseo, Rancho Santa Margarita, California, 92688. The meeting will be audio streamed and is open to the public. The public shall have the right to observe and offer public comment at this location. If you plan on attending, please follow the California Department of Health Guidelines by washing your hands often, refrain from handshakes and maintain social distance of six feet between individuals. While you may attend this meeting in person, you may also submit your comments in writing (eComment) for City Council consideration by using the "eComment" feature on the "Agenda and Minutes" City webpage. E-Comments will be provided to the City Council. E-Comments will not be read at the Council meeting. To ensure receipt and delivery, please submit eComments by 4:30 p.m. the day of the meeting.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors also allows the public to attend its meetings in person:

Consistent with these orders, there will be limited space available for the public to attend the Board meetings at the County Hall of Administration. For purposes of limiting the risk of COVID-19 transmission, members of the public are highly encouraged to view Board Meetings via the Internet. Members of the public may visit to view live Internet broadcast of Board meetings, may listen to the live meetings by calling (866) 590-5055, Access Code: 4138489, and may send Public Comments electronically for upcoming Board meetings by emailing. Comments submitted before the start of Board meetings will be part of the public record and distributed to the Board members for their consideration.

On May 26, 2020, Brian Goodell, along with dozens of other residents, appeared in person and addressed the Supervisors, who were all in attendance. Yet, Mission Viejo residents are locked out of its Council Chambers.

It is past the time for Mission Viejo to open the Council Chambers to the public.

The public podium belongs to the public. Open up the Chambers.
