Demolition is underway on new Shea Homes Development on Los Alisos

Demolition is underway on the Shea Homes development at the former Mission Foothill Center on Los Alisos Boulevard.  Heavy bulldozing equipment was moved onsite this week after a few weeks of preparation. Demolition is expected to be finished by mid-January with grading and underground utility work following suit. Shea expects to pull building permits for the model homes in June and celebrate the grand opening in November 2020.

In the summer, the City approved Shea’s plans to demolish 99,500 square feet of the vacant 1995 commercial retail space and build 105 dwelling units on the 6.73-acre portion of Mission Foothill Center.  The center struggled for years after anchor tenants Vons and Haggen closed their doors in 2013 and 2015, respectively. The new homes will boast 44 single-family detached homes and 61 townhome units. Four existing commercial buildings along Los Alisos Boulevard will remain.

In other business news, the following businesses recently opened or relocated in town – Muskan Threading and Beauty Bar, Nerdy By Nature Escape Room, Realty One Group West; Big Chopsticks, Kwik Kopy Printing of Mission Viejo, Star Body Jewelry and Care Direct.
