Enjoy lounging at the new outdoor Library Lounge

library lounge

If you've been by the Mission Viejo Library lately, you've probably spotted the colorful, artistic installation near the Kershaw Garden. This welcoming spot provides temporary outdoor seating and study space with vibrant barriers to aid in maintaining social distance and safety.

Visitors can enjoy the fall weather in the shaded seating areas, and public Wi-Fi is available during library operating hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 8 pm and Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5 pm. The Lounge is up until Thanksgiving and will return in 2021.

This delightful space was a collaboration between City staff, the Friends of the Arts and other wonderful volunteers. Artist Hiep Nguyen lent his design and paint application techniques. Artists and volunteers took canopies home to complete the work, and the results are magical.

Stop by and enjoy the Library Lounge today! The Kershaw Garden is located at 200 Civic Center.

I visited the Library Lounge today and it was lovely. I've been missing being able to study at the library. Thank you for creating this beautiful outdoor space.
