Orange County Health Care Agency's Regional COVID-19 Vaccine Super POD Site Opens in South OC

The Orange County Health Care Agency's (HCA) regional COVID-19 Vaccine Super Point of Dispensing (POD) site will open at 8 am on Saturday, January 23 at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.

Orange County is working to make the COVID-19 vaccination available; however, the County faces ongoing supply limitations. The Health Care Agency continues to request more doses from the State, officials said in a press release.

Soka University is the second regional vaccine point of dispensing (POD) location after the Disneyland Resort Super POD site opened in January. More Super POD sites will open as the supply of COVID-19 vaccines in the County increases.

Vaccines dispensed at County Super PODs are currently available for people who live and work in Orange County and fall within the State's Phase 1A, all tiers, including people 65 and older. Appointments are available through Othena.com based on vaccine availability. Eligible people with an appointment must present identification and proof of eligibility at the Super POD site to receive a vaccine. To view a list of folks eligible to receive a vaccine, visit https://occovid19.ochealthinfo.com/phased-approach-vaccine-distribution

For questions related to COVID-19, visit http://www.ochealthinfo.com/novelcoronavirus or follow the HCA on Facebook (@ochealthinfo) and Twitter (@ochealth). Information is also available by contacting the County's COVID-19 Hotline at 714-834-2000 or via email at ETeam@ochca.com

I feel like I live in a communist country. The last thing I want to do is be in lines where their are a thousand people during Covid 19. I have a 94 year old mother in law living with us and this is the last place I want to taker her. Any idea when Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid will be providing vaccines. Why not setup vaccine sites in the high school gymnasiums in the area. Their has got to be a better way.

My husband and I are 74 and want to register on Othena. I registered myself and because we have only one email address for both of us I cannot register my husband. This is absurd that only one of us can get an appointment because we don't have 2 email addresses.

I have tried several times a day to get an appointment for a vaccine through Othena. I am 78 years old and live alone. If I get Covid, there is no one who can take care of me. I am desperate to get the vaccine.

My husband and I have registered with Othena. We finally got a message that we are in the "waiting room" and will be contacted. Now when I try to log in, the page only shows where new patients can apply. I tried to register again but it said that I already have an account. Am I still in the queue to get an appointment?

Great! Another “super site”. Unfortunately the Othena program is an abysmal failure. I have been trying now for over a week with no success. There is no information on how far out they are scheduling and no source for information (the phone numbers listed are worthless). Really shameful for a state having all those brilliant tech companies with their supposedly brilliant employees. Huge waste of money for which the OC Supervisors and Health Agency will (or should) pay heavily on the next elections.

My husband Dirk Prelle and I have registered on Othena site but I have had trouble accessing the site.
We live in Rancho Santa Margarita not far from Soka University. We would like to register for appointments there. Can you help us?

I signed up on line thru Othena to get a vaccine but haven’t heard anything back. Is there something else I should be doing? I am 68 and have MS.

Thank you

I have a problem.
I registered , but some how there was a glitch where my birthday popped up as my name when it was summited.
When I try to go back in 1) it won't recognize my name to open, 2) it won't open using my birthday instead of my name, 3) it won't let me correct the mistake, and 4) it won't let me re-register because it says my email has already registered.

My husband and I received Moderna Vaccine #1 at Disney on January 16. The Othena site is not working as it did originally and I cannot access any appointment, although they originally gave us a tentative appointment which was two days earlier than we should have it with no location. Please advise if we can get the second shot in Aliso Viejo, since we live in Laguna Niguel. Thank you

I completed the registration several times but your site does not proceed when I try to submit. Therefore, I thought I was not successful in registering. Last nite I tried to re-register and got a message advising I am registered. I cannot remember the password and tried to reset several times. I still have not received an e-mail link allowing me to reset my password.

Cal you jplease send me a link to reset my password

How do I make an appointment or check to see if I have an appointment?

My Othena app keeps saying it is for round 1not 1A, and always says no clinic is open near me. I haven't even made it to the "waiting room." Have I registered incorrectly or am I especially unlucky at getting a response? Several of my fellow retired friends have already received their first vaccination.
