Next Drop & Go Drive-Through Food Collection Set for Feb. 20

food drive

Part of an ongoing effort to help people in our community, the City of Mission Viejo is continuing to host drive-through food drives benefiting different nonprofits on the third Saturday of the month at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center from 9 to 11 am.

Most-needed food items include oatmeal, pasta, hearty soups, cereal, dried beans, canned chicken, macaroni & cheese, canned fruit, canned pasta, canned chili, canned mixed vegetables (no green beans or corn), canned beef stew, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, protein bars and dinner helpers.

With COVID-19 protocols in place, the drive-through food drive will allow folks to drive up, pop their trunks and City staff members will collect the items.

Scheduled drives and Beneficiaries:

February 20   Stand-up for Kids

March 20       Families Forward

April 17          Family Assistance Ministries

May 1            South County Outreach

June 19         Crime Survivors-Food Pantry Support

Hello City of MIssion Viejo, (2-21-21)

I saw this on the website. It doesn't appear volunteers are requested but I'll throw my hat into the ring for this particular event's date.

I personally can help volunteer to help on this Food Drive on 3-20-21. I will be rallying my friends & church members of Mission Viejo & RSM to participate.

Please email me if you would like assistance including when to arrive & who to coordinate with day of helping.

Sincerely,
Derek Burkett

NOTE: I am resident
