Provide input during Oso Creek Golf Course and Public Space Virtual Workshop on March 11

During the Oso Creek Golf Course and Public Space Virtual Workshop on March 11, residents will learn about project alternatives and have the chance to provide input on the City's Vision Plan.

Developing a Vision Plan for the Oso Creek Golf Course and neighboring public space will help identify alternatives for the best uses of this public space in the future. Held from 6-7:30 pm, the virtual meeting will also cover what stakeholders and community members have said so far based on a community-wide survey and listening sessions with bordering associations at the end of last year. According to the survey and sessions, the sentiment includes:

  • Improving safety and amenities at the golf course.
  • Expanding food, beverage and hospitality offerings.
  • Improving and expanding existing recreational and community facilities.
  • Creating more community gathering places like dining, seating and event space.
  • Addressing parking and access for existing and new uses.
  • Enhancing the trail experience.
  • Providing a wider range of recreational amenities for a broader user base.

Registration for the Oso Creek Golf Course and Public Space Virtual Workshop is available on Zoom. For those who are unable to participate in the workshop, the session is being recorded and will be available to view on the City's website.

Lighting at The Murray Senior Center needs to be improved, maybe trees trimmed so lights can illuminate larger area. For a senior center, it's not a safe walk to our car in the dark of night. Please check it out for yourself, and pretend you are 80.

I will be listening to the meeting unable to Zoom.
In regards to the open land between Casta Del Sol drive and Jeronimo I would expect some to be used for additional parking for the tennis center and the swimming pool, thus reducing the need to use Margarite.
Has there been any consideration of a golf driving range to compliment the Oso Creek course?
The city has done some very nice things with the golf course facilities and somewhat the course itself. But more needs to be done to require the players take better care of the course. Marshals need to stop people from driving golf carts in areas that damage the course. From driving carts to the edges of greens, etc. With the money and time, the city has invested in Oso Creek we should all be required to protect it.

In the name of transparency and to ensure clarity in the City’s position and statements please preserve the March 11 virtual workshop zoom meeting and make it available for public access.

Doing so will maintain fairness and openness and inclusion.

It will also give the general public the opportunity to observe or recognize any camouflaged attempts to bait or entice or petition the attendees into believing they asked the City to build a boutique hotel.

My wife and I have the privilege of living in Cypress Point for 20 years.
The back of our home faces the 4th tee of the Oso Creek Golf course.

We were elated when the city purchased the course for the care of maintenance of our landscaping in general is simply magnificent. Oso creek golf course is already benefiting.

I understand that there is some thinking of screening parts of the course to create safety for walking around the course. If so, this must be carefully and selectively placed.

Where we reside, facing the 4th tee, we never have seen a golf ball. The course in this area runs N to S. We also have considerable trees. It is very safe.

A few months ago, when the course was closed, I walked around the entire course and for the first time, I truly enjoyed the many beautiful vistas. Fencing will detract from than and I do think that the golfers will not like it.

I would suggest considering modification of the start and ending tee times. I fully understand the need for safety but sustaining the natural beauty for those who may have never enjoyed it, will be eradicated for future generations.

Thank you,
