Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic Oct. 29

drive through flu shot

The City of Mission Viejo will host a Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic in the parking lot of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center on Friday, October 29.

While supplies last, the vaccine from the Orange County Health Care Agency is available to folks 18 and older from 9 am to 1 pm.  The vaccine is the standard flu vaccine and not the senior dose.

People who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 must wear a face mask. The flu shots are free, but donations are welcome to benefit the City's senior services. Mission Hospital, Optum Healthcare and MemorialCare, which are sponsoring the clinic, will be on hand with information and resources.

The Norman P. Murray Center is located at 24932 Veterans Way. For more information, call 949-470-3062.

I find it odd that this drive up flu shot clinic is held at the Murray center which is basically our senior center but the flu shot being administered is the standard dose not the senior dose.

The Orange County Health Care Agency supplies the flu vaccines. The City’s role is to provide increased access for residents by offering the vaccine at a convenient location.
