Lane closures in effect through Monday for street-improvement project along Santa Margarita Parkway

road construction

Paving work along stretches of Santa Margarita Parkway takes place through Monday, resulting in lane closures and traffic delays. This street-improvement project, which began today, will help extend the life of the busy arterial street.

On Friday, October 29, lane closures will be in effect from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Santa Margarita Parkway between Monterey and the western City limit.  Lane closures east of Marguerite Parkway could extend later than 4:30 pm due to paving operations. Motorists should avoid the area and use Marguerite, Los Alisos and Mustang Run to access the commercial centers. Afternoon traffic from Trabuco Hills High School should use Los Alisos and Mustang Run, if possible.

On Saturday, October 30, the work takes place between Marguerite and the western City limit with lane closures starting at 6 am throughout the day to pave both major intersections at Marguerite and Los Alisos. Motorists should avoid the area and use Marguerite, Los Alisos and Mustang Run to access the commercial centers.

Paving work on Monday, November 1 takes place from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Santa Margarita Parkway between Los Alisos and the western City limit. Use alternate routes, and afternoon traffic for Trabuco Hills High School should use Los Alisos and Mustang Run, if possible.

Message boards have been placed at nine different locations to alert motorists, and traffic signal timing will be adjusted to keep traffic moving through construction zones.
