New California legislation set to cause detrimental impacts to cities like Mission Viejo
Amid staunch opposition from the City Council and League of California Cities in vehemently opposing AB 2011, which would strip local control and take decisions away from Mission Viejo residents, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday signed two new housing bills that will impact municipalities.
AB 2011 (Wicks), the Housing and High Road Jobs Act of 2022, and SB 6 (Caballero), the Middle-Class Housing Act of 2022 both address a long-discussed method for increasing housing development potential by unlocking sites currently designated for commercial or retail uses, so long as developers use either increased labor or affordability standards.

Governor Nuisance aka Newsom…
Governor Nuisance aka Newsom is a tyrant at heart. He believes in big government and calling as many "shots" as he can. He has to be voted out of office!

Mission Viejo and other…
Mission Viejo and other California cities have dragged their feet on providing real housing solutions for DECADES creating the only state in the nation where per capita dwelling units continue to decline year over year. How long did they believe they could shirk their responsibility before the state was forced to offer their own solutions???

I for one am pretty glad this bill passed. Maybe the city council can try extending the current housing laws like how they extended their own terms?
This is a great way forward…
This is a great way forward to add new housing in our community. New market value and affordable housing is desperately needed in Orange County.
If this City Council really thinks this is detrimental, I will remember that come reelection time.

OMG!! Great way to add new housing to our community???? Please reconsider the idea that BIG GOVERNMENT should be making decisions for all the little towns and big cities in California. LOCAL CONTROL is always better! Those who live, work, go to school and pay taxes in these towns or cities are the only people who should have a voice in the matter.
So glad my city council…
So glad my city council tells me which state legislation I should oppose so that I don't have to do any actually thinking for myself. If only they would tell me what TV shows I should watch and books I should read. By the way, should I be reading books?
Government is Government,…
Government is Government, and Big Government is Big Government, and controls your property and your life, whether in Sacramento, City Hall, or the HOA.
